In this new post we will cover the printing 1099-K forms for QuickBooks users.
Please refer to the IRS website for more information on when your business or company is required to file 1099-K forms.
This tutorial assumes you’ve installed W2 Mate software, which is used for importing and then remapping 1099-K data stored inside QuickBooks.
If you do not own a copy of W2 Mate you can download a free demo by visiting the W2 Mate software page .
Launch QuickBooks and open the company file you want to import from.
Open W2 Mate software and open the 1099-K company file you want to import into.
Launch the QuickBooks import wizard: from the top menu inside W2 Mate, click “Import Data > From QuickBooks”
Follow the wizard. All screens are self-explanatory and easy to understand. In the last screen, review your data and click Import.
Go to the 1099-K forms screen inside 1099-K Software by selecting 1099&1098 Forms button from the left toolbar and then clicking on Form Type to change the form to “Form 1099-K”.
Review the data for each recipient. The 1099-K form layout inside W2 Mate is identical to the actual form you get from the IRS.
Click the Print button. In the dialog that comes up, select the type of copy you want to print and the list of recipients. When you are ready click OK button.
Place pre-printed red 1099-K forms in the printer. Click the print button again and this time select the option of printing data only on a pre-printed form.
If you want to email 1099-K forms to recipients instead of mailing, then select the option to create PDF 1099-K forms inside W2 Mate.
Either email or mail 1099-K copy B to payees. Mail 1099-K Copy A to the IRS along with form 1096. Note you want use the 1096 screen inside W2 Mate to print form 1099-K.
